About Plum Rose Publishing

Angela Bond, Owner of Plum Rose Publishing.

Plum Rose Publishing is a female and minority-owned business started by a music teacher. Angela wrote her first music theory coloring workbook during the time she had off during the pandemic in 2019. Her brother, an art teacher, illustrated it, and she used her stimulus money to print the first few hundred copies. After selling to local music stores and schools, Angela expanded her business into other music education resources and publications. Plum Rose Publishing now provides resources for people in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

A Free Online Music History Curriculum

music history students

We’ve made it easy to teach music history to your music class or even study music history independently. This music history curriculum discusses in detail each music era, rock and roll, country music, and jazz history. Each genre is broken down into a general overview, highlighted composers, and instruments. You can download free music history worksheets and there are critical thinking questions for each section. The reading level is easy enough for upper elementary to understand and read aloud in a classroom and all the listening examples are already on the page, so you don’t have to click back and forth. Students can read sections as a class or on their tablets or laptops. We wanted to make life easier for music teachers. Students will have fun and teachers can rest assured that they are covering every topic.
