What are Vocal Ranges?
Voices have a lowest and highest pitch. This is called range. When we’re older, our voices mature. Some voices are very low, some are very high, and some can be in the middle.

The highest female vocal range.

Alto
F₃ to C₅
The lowest female vocal range.

Tenor
C₃ to C₅
The highest male vocal range.

Bass
E₂ to E₄
The lowest male vocal range.

Emmy Elephant loves to sing—but there’s just one problem. She doesn’t realize she’s singing much too loudly! As her booming voice annoys everyone around her, Emmy begins to wonder if she should stop singing altogether. Feeling discouraged, she turns to her friend, Leon Leopard, who helps her discover that singing isn’t about being the loudest—it’s about finding the voice that is uniquely her own.
